pakos - I am assuming that what you mean is how do you determine when to refill your gas tank based on the mileage you have ridden and how to go about keeping track of mileage since our favorite bike, the Savage, has no tripmeter to reset. If you literally mean to design and build a fuel level indicator let us know when the design plans are patented and production begins so we can place orders. If the former is true the solution I use is as Volley has alluded to. I use a grease pencil on my speedo glass and just wipe it clean periodically. Actually I have been using my wifes left over eyebrow pencils, they are no more than grease pencils anyway and she always has an old one laying around never to be missed. I should also mention here that if you do go on reserve, to be sure to turn the fuel tap back down from the reserve position or the next time is a guaranteed push if you follow my meaning because at that point you will not have a reserve, you've just used it up. The ultra simple solution is just to assume 50 mpg on a 2 gallon fuel supply and fill every 100 miles give or take.
